About Us

We believe that many young people desire to get involved in their community and contribute in a positive, selfless way. However, often times the motivation or opportunities are difficult to find. YPOGS desires specifically to focus on this demographic and assist in generating the motivation and finding the opportunities.

In addition to participating in the various volunteer opportunities that present themselves, the individuals are encouraged to attend the regular social meetings that YPOGS will organize to allow the participants to develop a network of and potentially friendships with fellow young professionals.

Volunteering
On an ongoing basis, various volunteer opportunities will be available for those who decide to participate. By participating individuals will benefit:
  • The community
  • Themselves
  • Their respective firms

The volunteer opportunities will be posted on this website continually, and updated regularly.

    Organize Your Own Volunteer Event
We encourage the individual participants in YPOGS to seek out volunteer projects that they would like to participate in. The organization will have to approve those opportunities, and upon approval, the individual will become the project coordinator and act as the point person for the event. There name, e-mail, phone number (depending how they would prefer to be contacted) will be posted on the YPOGS website. Those individuals who see the opportunity would then contact the project coordinator to participate in their event.

We ask that each participant in YPOGS, participate in 1 volunteer event every 6 months.

    Networking Gatherings
On a regular basis, social gatherings at various locations in Seattle will be organized. The typical meeting will be mid-week, 6pm-8pm, and will be relatively informal, in as far as there is no schedule. We will take a minute to discuss the YPOGS concept and encourage participants to get involved, but the primary goal of these meetings is to allow individuals to meet their peers and have a good time.
